The case study on the Giovanni Meloni Artist Archive: guidelines for the protection and enhancement of the artistic legacy.

Abstract

Co-authors: Vincenzo Pavan, Andrea Antonio Toniutti. The Giovanni Meloni artist archive (Verona, 1940 - 2019) brings together much of Giovanni Meloni's pictorial and paper production together with sketchbooks, catalogues, documents and personal photographs. The archive was formed in parallel with the work carried out by the Archivio Meloni Association, founded in 2003 by a group of the artist's friends. [...] From November 2022 to April 2024, a thesis under restoration was carried out with the collaboration of the Association, declining the theoretical-methodological part as a case study on the management of the legacy in the first five years after the artist's death. The result is guidelines on the aspects of protection and valorisation which are leading to the developments hoped for in the thesis.
